KNOTTYMAN FITNESS

Welcome to Knottyman Fitness! My name is Phillip Keith, and I am the founder of Knottyman. Knottyman was created in 2017 for the purpose of enhancing the lives of the aging male (and female) population. This was accomplished by way of a customized yoga class specially designed for individuals with 'less advanced' abilities. The concept quickly grew in popularity! My wife Anne and I both are passionate about fitness and about helping others. In 2023 we decided to take our business model to the next level. Men – I know you are questioning this whole yoga concept. You’re wondering what it’s all about and what it can do for you. In fact, you’re probably even a little intimidated by it. For most guys, the belief is that yoga is only suitable for fit women who do things the body wasn’t meant to do! All of those same thoughts went through my head for a long time. I stayed away from yoga and stuck with the more ‘manly’ physical activities. Then two years ago my nagging injuries finally got the best of me. I was in too much pain to do any kind of exercise at all. Degenerative disks in my neck and lower back, shoulder injuries, knee problems, and other ailments got to the point where I could barely even put my socks on every morning. That’s when I finally gave in and took my first beginner’s yoga class. And I’ve never looked back! During the time I was injured, I was climbing the walls not being active. So taking two or three yoga classes every week was a welcome relief! Even though I was taking beginner level classes, it was not easy working through all my aches and pains. My body was so tight and my mind wouldn't stop racing. But that all began to change in just a few months. I could feel the benefits as my body strengthened and healed. I regained my balance and range of motion. Just as important, there was another side of yoga I never knew existed. The meditative-like breathwork and relaxation added an incredible sense of stress relief to my life. I was hooked! I know what a regular yoga practice has done for me, and I have seen it's powerful, life-changing impact on others. That’s why I decided to become a teacher. I wanted to pass on the incredible rewards yoga has given me. Specifically, my desire was to target the aging male population that, like me, was intimidated by yoga and had no idea how much mental and physical benefit regular yoga practice provides. This market is grossly underserved, and Knottyman is here to fill that void. My beginner’s Knottyman class is geared for men of ALL ages, sizes, fitness levels, and abilities.  In fact, yoga can be even more beneficial if you have an injury. I invite you to come try a complimentary class. Everything you need will be provided. And it will help you get your socks on!  Namaste!
